Holiday Mac and Cheese

This has been the most requested recipe so far from the rolodex by my cousins.  Holidays were always a magical time in our family.  My grandmother would cook for what seemed days and it probably would be.  The buffet of food was incredible.  Furthermore, the amount of food she would cook was overwhelming.  I am not sure who she was cooking for - the Holland Family or the City of Albany.  However, no matter what holiday she would make Macaroni and Cheese, and I have to admit it was soooooo good.

Mema's Mac and Cheese

8 oz of elbow mini penne macaroni (use whatever style you like)
1-1/2 lbs of sharp cheddar cheese grated
3 eggs
1-1/2 stick of salted sweet cream butter
1 quart of sweet cream milk (basically whole milk)

Boil macaroni; drain and rinse with cold water.  Take the 1/2 stick of butter and grease your pan WELL. Add a layer of the shredded cheese on the bottom of the pan, add a layer of cooke macaroni.  Repeat this process until your pan is full and the final layer is the shredded cheese.  Beat eggs and pour egg mixture over the prepare pan.  Then add the sweet milk until it barely reaches the top of the macaroni.  Slice the stick of butter and place on top of the macaroni.  Cook at 450 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

Now I know this is not that much different from most mac and cheese recipes, but it sure was good!
